On-Your-Own Hikes

We are lucky to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world -- the San Francisco Bay Area. Getting outdoors is in the DNA of our region, and we have it all -- waterfalls, rivers, lakes, steep mountains and green valleys.

Our unit enjoys doing Pack hikes and Den hikes on a monthly basis. Due to COVID-19 and the need to observe social distancing, we also introduced the concept of On Your Own Hikes.

With the On Your Own Hikes, the Pack provides the route -- and you choose the time! These hikes count toward the Pack 345 50 Miler Hiking Award -- just send an email to pack345sf@gmail.com with the scout's name, hike name and number of miles and we'll take care of recording them in Scoutbook for you.

The On Your Own Hikes are designed to appeal to scouts of all ages (Kindergarten through 5th grade) and we try to pick routes that are easy to get to (in/around San Francisco). If the route is dog-friendly (and most are!) we will note that in the route description.

If you have a suggestion for an On Your Hike, please email it to us: pack345sf@gmail.com!

Happy trails!
