We are currently welcoming new scouts who are entering grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. Our pack has scouts from all across San Francisco, Daly City and South San Francisco.
Every Cub Scout pack has a different personality based on the size of the pack and the interests of its members. We encourage all potential families to shop around to find the pack that best meets their needs.
Pack 345 prides itself on welcoming all eligible scouts to our pack. Eligible scouts are those entering Kindergarten through 5th grade. There are no geographic, gender, race, religious, sexual orientation or any other kind of restriction. Further, if the financial cost of joining the pack would be a barrier for you, please get in touch -- we will work with you to find a way to get your scout into the pack. You can read more about our Statement of Non-Discrimination and how we're keeping our cubs safe during COVID-19.
Check out our Pack Calendar to see if there is a Pack Meeting coming up soon; they're a great place to see how we run our Pack, and ask questions of our volunteer leaders.
Once you've looked around, liked what you've seen, and decided you'd like your child to join us, here's what to do next:
Fill out a youth application. The easiest way to do that is to click here to fill out the application online. This link is specifically for joining our pack (Pack 345 in San Francisco). A few things to note:
If you are joining us from another Pack and already have an account on my.scouting.org, please do not create a new application. Contact us at pack345sf@gmail.com for special instructions!
Provide your information (i.e. parent information) at the beginning of the account creation process. You'll have a chance to enter information for your scout or scouts later on.
The online application will ask you to pay the national and council registration costs. For more information on registration costs, click here.
Separately, submit $142 per scout 2023-2024 Pack Dues to fund the cost of running the program as soon as possible.
Electronically: Send the dues amount via Zelle to the address pack345sf@gmail.com. The name is "Cub Scout Pack 345".
Check: Give your den leader a check made out to "Cub Scout Pack 345".
Get a uniform and rank handbook for your child. See this page for more information on the uniform including which pieces you do NOT need to buy.
Used: The pack has a lending library for used uniforms and you may wish to contact the uniform librarian to see what is available.
New: Online you can visit www.scoutshop.org or IRL visit brick-and-mortar store which is the Peninsula Scout Shop in Foster City.
Refer to the Uniform Checklist on the Uniform Information page.
Fill out our Family Talent Survey, which helps informs us of the many hidden talents within our pack's families!
Log in to ScoutBook, the system we use to communicate with parents and to track your child's progress. You'll use the same username and password you created in step #1 above. Once your application is received, we will enter your family information into the system and you will receive an email invitation to set up an account. Please do so especially to update your contact information and to add any other parents who wish to receive email from the pack. Please check your Spam folder for email from the pack for the first week or so. Hotmail and AOL in particular seems to think our messages are spam.
Subscribe to the pack event calendars! Click this link for instructions.
Fill out parts A and B of the Annual Health and Medical Record and bring it to the next meeting. Part A is the important part. Part B is intended for when a non-parent might need to know your child's health history, such as camping without you present. Because we expect a parent to accompany each Cub at all activities, we don't actually use the information in Part B but we're still required to collect it. Please do NOT email the completed forms to us, due to HIPAA regulations.
If the cost of participating in the program doesn't fit into your family budget, please speak with the Cubmaster or Committee Chair. We're committed that every child be able to be a Cub regardless of ability to pay, and through the generous sponsorship of Elks Lodge #3 of San Francisco we are able to offer some need-based scholarships. All conversations will be completely confidential.
