DESCRIPTION

For our first hike of the new year (and the first with lots of new Cubs) we'll start in our own back yard.

We'll check out the new Land's End visitor center, walk along an old railroad bed to a hidden beach and outdoor labyrinth, and try to spot the river otters at the Sutro Bath ruins.

The whole family is welcome to join us. This activity is suitable for young kids. For those of limited mobility, the trail is wide and flat for about 1/2 mile but the path down to the beach is steep and sandy.

Be sure to dress warmly enough to be comfortable just standing around while the kids play!

SCHEDULE

12:30pm-1pm park and check out the Land's End Visitor Center

1pm-2:30pm hike to beach and play

2:30pm-3:30pm return at your own pace, visit Sutro Baths

Please arrive early to find parking and check out the Land's End Visitor Center. The hike will begin promptly at 1pm. We will head out on the trail on the north end of the main parking lot. After about half a mile, a trail heads down to the left to Mile Beach where will hang out. Head back when you feel like it and stop by Sutro Baths to look for the river otter.
