Here's your April 2014 update!
TWO PACK MEETINGS REMAINING
Only two more pack meetings left in this Scout year -- April 11 and May 9. The pack leaders are working hard to help the kids earn their badges. Please help us by bringing your son to the meeting on time and in full uniform.
Pack and den meetings will resume after Labor Day in the fall. While we won't have regular meetings over the summer, we'll still have one or two activities each month -- Stern Grove, SF Giants, overnight campouts, etc.
FREE TICKETS TO PROFESSIONAL ULTIMATE FRISBEE GAMES
The San Francisco Dogfish are a professional Ultimate Frisbee team entering their second season of Major League Ultimate. Last year they won the Western Conference Championships.
When you wear your Scout uniform, you can attend any of the home games for free! Games are played at Boxer Stadium in Balboa Park at 2 pm on April 12, April 26, May 17, June 7 and June 21.
If any parent would like to organize a group trip, let me know. You can learn more about the team at www.sfdogfish.com or you can call the Dogfish directly at 415-948-0668 and ask for Rusty May.

Sun 4/13 -- day hike on Pt. Reyes Bear Valley trail, 1pm - late
Sat 4/26 -- Schooner sailing on the Bay (see note below)
Sun 5/4 -- day hike (1pm, Pacifica) and BOWL-A-RAMA (5:30pm, SeaBowl in Pacifica)
Fri 5/9 -- pack meting, West Portal Lutheran, 7pm
Sat 5/24 -- Memorial Day flag planting, Presidio cemetery, 9am-11:30am
Sun 6/1 -- end-of-year Blue & Gold Banquet and Crossing-Over Ceremony, Elks Lodge downtown, 3pm-7pm

SCHOONER SAIL ON THE BAY APRIL 26
There are still a few spots left to go sailing on the bay on Saturday, 4/26. Cost is $35 per adult, and we are using pack funds to cut the cost down to $15 for kids. FISHING DERBY MAY 10
We're planning a pack event in September to teach kids how to fish. In the meantime, for those Cubs who already have their own gear the Marin Rod & Gun Club is sponsoring a Scout fishing derby on Saturday, May 10, 9am-1pm. Registration required by May 5. See flyer for more details:

OFFICIAL COUNCIL CAMPING WEEKENDS
The local councils offer many opportunities for weekend and summertime camping. Some are aimed at specific age groups, and others are for the whole family.
For those of you who have been to Camp Mather or Lair of the Bear, it's much the same feeling but with more organized activities for the kids. Note that these weekends are organized by the council and have costs associated with them. Please check the pack website for more details on each:
