Scouting For Food, Part 2 -- food collection

Post date: Nov 17, 2012 6:56:06 AM

We'll meet at 9am Saturday at Lowell High School, rain or shine, to collect food for the San Francisco Food Bank. Lowell's address is 1101 Eucalyptus @ Forest View, SF.

Please dress your child warmly and in waterproof shoes!

We should be all done by noon, or by 1pm for those who help us drop off the food at the SF Food Bank.

While the entire family is welcome to participate, you'll probably want to leave younger siblings at home. Even the 1st and 2nd graders run out of steam after a couple of hours.

If you have a minivan or pickup truck, please bring it. We need one car to follow each group of kids so we can load the food in the back.

Kids should be in their full Class A uniform.

We have some extra flyers that the kids can show people for information. They should hang on to the flyers instead of handing them out.

The rules are the same as last week:

- Cubs work with a buddy.

- Cubs are not to go inside any houses.

- Cubs should only cross the street with a grownup.

- Remember to smile and say thank you!

Scouting For Food is a good event for the kids to learn about service to others, and we try to make it fun as well...this year your son can get some puddle stomping in!

See you Saturday,

Mike Conte, Bear Den Leader
