Pack 345 update for November 2013

Post date: Nov 8, 2013 7:42:07 PM

Hi pack! It's been a fun first month getting reacquainted with old boys and meeting the new ones. Here's your clue sheet for November 2013.

NECKERCHIEFS, T-SHIRTS, AND MORE

Neckerchiefs will be given out at the pack meeting this Friday to all kids who need one. I've lost track of who still needs a pack T-shirt, so come find me at the meeting if you do. We've also got a cool patch for all kids who finished the history hike last weekend at the campout. (If you attended the campout and already received the patch, or if you left before the hike, please let me know.)

SCOUTING FOR FOOD

Our first service project of the year, Scouting For Food is an annual drive to collect donations for the SF Food Bank before Thanksgiving. The boys go out one weekend to hang flyers on doors then return the next weekend to collect donations. I've blocked out 9am-noon each day on the calendar, but the first day will take only about an hour if everybody helps.

HELP NEEDED

1) Scouting For Food Coordinator. Interested in community service but don't have a lot of time? We need help organizing the Cub families on Saturday 11/9 to hang up door flyers for about an hour, organizing them again on 11/16 to collect bags of food for about 3 hours, then making sure the food gets transported to the SF Food Bank in Potrero Hill.

2) Hiking Coordinator -- This year we're launching a more official hiking program for the pack! This person's primary responsibly will be keeping a log of all hikers and their associated miles. Additional responsibilities could include promoting hiking, creation of some hiking awards, and scheduling all hikes. This is a great role for a parent who is looking to help but has limited time.
