(This event has passed, but I'm adding it to the webpage for documentation.)
Hi pack -- We will have space for everyone who RSVP'd for the campout this weekend!
First important point: do any of you have access to seasoned wood for our campfire? If not we'll buy some wood before we arrive.
Second important point: please bring a mess kit for your family (plates, utensils, bowls, cups, coffee mug if desitred). In an effort to reduce waste, we encourage all families to bring re-useable gear though you may bring your own disposables if you wish.
DETAILS:
Our fall campout will be this weekend at the Boulder Creek Scout Reservation, near Big Basin in the hills above Santa Cruz. We arrive Saturday, Oct. 25 at 1pm and depart Sunday, Oct. 27 at 11am. I expect we'll find a Sunday afternoon activity to do in the area for those who area interested. It will take 80-90 minutes to drive there from SF.
Meals provided include Saturday afternoon snack, Saturday dinner, campfire s'mores, Sunday breakfast, and a packable Sunday lunch. Food cost will be approximately $12 per person. The pack will cover the cost of the campsite itself.
I am told that there is running water available, including flush toilets and hot showers.
Committee chairman and Tiger den leader Russ Hunter will be the point of contact when you arrive on Saturday. We are camping in the "Cubland" site, which is to the left of the parking lot as you arrive, just on the other side of the bathrooms.
