This Sunday, join us for an afternoon exploration of Golden Gate Park. Because the weather continues to be so beautiful, we'll stay inside city limits and save the East Bay hikes for summer when we want to escape the fog.
Meet at 12:45pm Sunday in the parking lot at the corner of Lincoln Ave. & La Playa, (the southwest corner of GG Park where it meets the beach). We'll start hiking at 1pm sharp, wind our way through Golden Gate Park, and end at Ice Cream Bar in Cole Valley.
From Cole Valley you may return on the N-Judah or hike back through the park. Total distance one way is an easy 4.5 miles.

I know some parents might not want to spoil their kids' dinner, so I'm not going to mention Ice Cream Bar to them. On the day, let me know if you're not planning to go and I'll show you where to split off from the rest of the pack.
Last month's "3 Peak" hike was our most strenuous all year! In contrast, this will be an easy, mostly-flat hike on dirt trails and pavement suitable for people of limited mobility and jogging strollers.
Please have your son carry his own backpack with lots of water, layered clothing, a hat, and a snack.
